About Me

Though I was working with jewelry since 1992, during  my university years from 1996- except the years I spent in Finland  with scholarship- I got far away from jewelry. This was partly due to the university  thematics  ( jewelry was not more than one semester during my studies) and on the other hand to my decision that I want to get acquainted with other  scopes of the craft.

In this period of time, between 1996 and 2002, I was co-working  with architects taking part in different  interior designer works ( Bank Center, Barabás villa, private flats), I designed give-aways for firms (Fornax Ltd.) and awards (Credit Swiss: „The man of the year”). I  have been working  for NKÖM (Ministry of National Cultural Heritage) for several years . I designed and made representation boards, magazine holders,  inscriptions for them.

In autumn 2002  I could easily say : no! I do not want to conclude compromises in my work, I do not want to  fight with subcontractors  or those who order my works. And I do not want to be stressed by  deadlines.

This was the time when I decided to return  to my original topic that I can keep under control and  which I can coordinate myself – assuming also the responsibility alone.

I made up my mind to design a variety of jewelry set that never existed before. At that  time were created  my first steel jewels which were prepared with a sort of  precise technology that was unkown in jewel-making before –as far as I know.

„Thinking in steel” and the new technology resulted in a jewelry variety that was in fact, a novelty of its kind. (Rings/stainless steel). These were my first works creating  which I was working among the limits of my own rules. This was for me the first test of  the professional design  approach, which verified the additional knowledge that my university studies gave me. I am still grateful to my masters Vladimir Péter and András Bánfalvi for this.

Nowadays it became very important for me to know the person for whom the jewel will be made. To know her/him, to have a conversation with her/him, to map her/his wishes – these all help me to  a  cleared result. This result  has not to be a „great invention”, but under fortunate circumstances we both, the ordering person and me,  feel that we are present in the object. It occurs many times that the picture of the jewel appears in my mind already on the occasion of our first meeting.

Wedding-rings are particularly good personal intermediates,  since they bear, as a matter of course, a surplus meaning. They are mystic objects…. I create    them with pleasure.
